The large number of visitors confirms the success of this year’s World Usability Day (WUD) in Ingolstadt. After the valuable experience in 2017 and the renewed success of this year’s event, the joint organizers Spiegel Institut and the Department of User Experience Design at the Technical University of Ingolstadt have decided to turn the World Usability Day into an annual fixture in Ingolstadt.
After the WUD is before the WUD, and thus it is now time for this year’s event on November 8: Spiegel Institut and the Department for User Experience Design of the Technical University of Ingolstadt extend an invitation to this second meeting of UX experts.
After working with TISAX to create a joint testing and exchange mechanism for information security in the automotive industry just last year, the Spiegel Institut sites in Mannheim, Ingolstadt, and Munich were assessed according to the demanding certification requirements, receiving high marks: Spiegel Institut has received TISAX certification for the handling and processing of information/prototypes with very high security requirements.
After a new quality management standard was implemented last year, Spiegel Institut has again been granted certification according to ISO 9001:2015 in 2018. Since 2009, Spiegel Institut has been audited by TÜV Süd and has received good marks each time.

Spiegel Institut Academy has expanded its seminar offer: In the new seminar “Understanding China’s Culture: Consumer research in the land of the red dragon”, participants gain insights into the Chinese market, its consumers, and the possibilities of market research in one of the largest markets in the world.
At the Automotive Roundtable “Future Mobility for China”, in Beijing on April 17, 2018, Yuwei Jin, Director of Asia-Pacific at Spiegel Institut in Beijing and Shanghai will speak on the subject of “E-mobility and autonomous driving - a user experience perspective”.
Since 2017, the institute has actively worked with “Aufwind”, a social institution for parents and children, to combat child poverty in Mannheim. The institute not only provides financial support but also assists in creative change. Working with two Mannheim artists, it organized a creative day for children at the institution. It therefore succeeded in the truest sense of the word to help children “ascend”, a play on the institution’s name in German, in their everyday lives.
